IAN HARROLD

Ian has been employed in a number of creative disciplines over the years. Photography has always been the common thread, providing the visual 'glue' and another creative route for design development.

In the 1970's he trained as a jeweller/silversmith at Sir John Cass School of Art, London, the pre-eminent college for teaching the complete range of design & craft techniques. Ian then worked as Assistant Production Manager at Cartier Ltd, New Bond St. before opening his own workshop.

In the mid 80's an opportunity arose in the new field of electronic graphics. He created a department at CWA in Leicester where his team developed equipment & software for presentation graphics. CWA were the UK market leaders.
The recession of the early 90's forced a change in direction. He moved to the South West and broke in to television graphics at the newly formed Westcountry Television Ltd, working on Quantel Paintbox/Picturebox systems & developing motiongraphics.co.uk, creating broadcast motion graphic title sequences with a specialism in bespoke maps.
